Typography
When it’s used thoughtfully, typography is a powerful brand tool that can add visual meaning to what we say. Our typography communicates clearly and cleanly, with enough flexibility for a wide range of situations.
This brand uses three typefaces that work together to bring our messages to life. Gazzetta and Avenir Next are our primary fonts, and Source Serif provides a bold and effective presence in compact spaces. Each typeface has its own purpose and tone, so use the following guidelines when considering typographic choices.

Avenir Next is a clean, easy-to-digest sans-serif font. As our primary font, it’s ideal for headlines, body copy, captions and call-outs; it works well across digital and print applications. With Avenir Next, we also maintain consistency with our existing signage and stationery.

Used primarily for headlines and key marketing moments, Gazzetta is a font that stands apart in the crowded higher-education landscape. Inspired by classic newspaper typography but refined for modern use, Gazzetta signals credibility, momentum and progress. It’s bold enough to command attention and sophisticated enough to showcase our academic rigor. It’s best suited for short headlines or phrases.

Using Our Typefaces
When using our typefaces, mix and match weights and fonts for visual interest. Pairing two of our typefaces together tends to feel best, but using three at once is permissible. These examples show a handful of acceptable pairings and sizing, but note that there are many possible combinations. These are only the start.
