Brand Guidelines
The following video comprises quick cuts of new GW brand elements including the waving flag, chevron, steps, 5-pointed and 6-pointed star patterns, color palette, the fonts Gazzetta, Source Serif and Avenir Next, and the 1821 Tempietto badge, interspersed with photos of D.C. and representative graphic design samples. Text on the video reads: "The George Washington University. At GW, the future is closer. Countless new possibilities, new opportunities, and new discoveries are just steps away."
Maintaining a strong, consistent brand is a vital part of maintaining GW’s strength as an institution. Every day, GW communicates with thousands of people, from high school students to heads of state. Everything that the Office of Communications and Marketing creates for the university shares elements that are consistent, unified and recognizable. Whether you’re promoting your school’s accomplishments or recruiting new students, your materials should clearly be a part of GW.
We worked closely with the university community and experts to create GW’s Brand Guidelines (PDF), a guide for creating materials with unified messaging and visuals. We are responsible for maintaining and enforcing GW's Brand Guidelines and can advise you on ensuring your materials adhere.
