As recently reported in GW Today, GW is currently undergoing a brand refresh. New visual identity standards and guidelines will be provided in Spring 2026. If you have questions, contact visualidentitygwu [dot] edu.
Color Palette
GW’s color palette is a highly visible and expressive component of our identity—and it’s more than just buff and blue. The palette includes core primary, core accent and secondary colors to help you communicate your message and add variety. In an effort to consistently reproduce colors across different media, we’ve specified color definitions for:
Print (Pantone® spot, CMYK, Pantone® Metallic)
Web (RGB, HEX)
TV (HEX TV)
Thread (Madeira®)
GW’s full color palette is available for download and contains Adobe Swatch Exchange (.ase) files for use with industry standard design software. Swatch files are included for print, web and TV applications. The included process palettes are more common, and best for use in most cases. The spot palettes are for specialty applications like spot printing or screen printing on merchandise.
The secondary color palette adds variety, and is always used in combination with the core brand colors. These colors are never to be used as a replacement or alternative to the core brand colors.
All GW digital materials must adhere to WCAG AA color contrast guidelines. Please refer to the following chart when designing anything that will be distributed digitally, such as websites, social media content, or digital video graphics.
