Our photography does a lot of work to express and showcase GW as a high-energy environment of knowledge, culture and change. We want our photos to be immersive in illustrating these ideas, so that, with each image, we reinforce our brand promise of “Proximity and Progress.”

With our photo categories, we tether our brand pillars — location in D.C., engaged scholarship, meaningful outcomes, and impact — to stylistic considerations. Ultimately, our photography needs to inspire our audiences, allowing them to walk away with a clear and authentic sense of the moments, people, environments and opportunities that characterize GW.

In the service of telling GW’s authentic story, the use of stock imagery is strongly discouraged, as is the use of images created by AI.
